Copper Country Cruise:

Globe Firehouse Show and Shine

The Globe Firehouse Show and Shine was held in Globe, AZ on April 11-12, 2008.

The initial Globe event began in the Fry's Shopping Ctr. in 2001. for 6 years we contributed every cent to Habitat For Humanity. Now our primary beneficiary is the Globe Fire Dept. In 2007 we raised $5125.00 for them [rain]. In 2008 this amount increased to $7126.33. The money goes to the Dept. 'Burn Fund', which actually helps out three different departments to aid needy fire victims and their families. This event begins on Friday evening each year, with a cook out sponsored by The Globe Fire Dept. and Hosted by Southwest Gas on Russell Road. Registration is available here. We travel from there up the hill to Sonic Drive Inn for dessert. On Saturday, the morning begins with a Globe Fire Dept. sponsored breakfast and continued registration. The Fire Station is the activity center for the event. This is not a closed event as traffic moves freely all day and participants are encouraged to cruise. Lunch is also sponsored and cooked at the site for the entries, by the Globe Fire Dept. fireman. This event traditionally draws 150 to 175 cars, from as far away as TX & NM.
